Oh the barnyard is busy in a regular tizzy and the obvious reason is because of the season. Mom Nature's lyrical with her yearly miracle... SPRING, SPRING, SPRING.

That song isn't even on here, but whatever. Part of it don't make sense outside of the movie (especially for those who have never seen Seven Brides...), so I just left it off. But I still have 25 fantastic songs for Springtime! This one was fairly difficult to make because for me, a lot of spring/summer songs have the same attributes, so I had to really distinguish which ones reminded me more of Spring. But I think it turned out wondrously.

Again, the playlist is under 80 minutes, so you can easily burn it to a CD if you want.

(ngl, that's probably my favorite cover for this series)

Inspiration:
01. Country Gardens - Joseph Cooper
Some might say this is more summery, but for some reason it always makes me think of spring! When I close my eyes with this, I imagine gardens and flowers popping up and starting to bloom. It's just so joyous and awesome.

02. Joyful, Joyful - Kristin Chenoweth
Field and forest, vale and mountain,
Flow’ry meadow, flashing sea,
Singing bird and flowing fountain
Call us to rejoice in Thee.

03. Little April Showers - Bambi
Drip, drip, drop
When the sky is cloudy
Your pretty music
Can brighten the day

Drip, drip, drop
When the sun says howdy
You say goodbye right away

04. Morning Has Broken - Ellen Greene
Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the one light, Eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God's recreation of the new day

05. (They Long To Be) Close To You - Carpenters
Aside from "birds singing" this really has no relation to springtime. It just puts me in that mood, and I deemed it necessary to put it on here.

06. Silver Lining - Rilo Kiley
Another one that doesn't really have anything to do with spring, but I adore this song. And the whole vibe of the song is laid back and a great roll your windows down and feel the breeze type of song, which is my favorite part of spring.

07. Swinging On A Star - Bing Crosby
I'm not sure why this song makes me think of spring, it just... does? I really have no reason beyond that, haha.

08. Haste to the Wedding - The Corrs
Springtime is when a lot of weddings happen. Oddly enough, this is also when the most rain tends to happen... but I digress. This song comes from their album "Home" which is vastly underappreciated by everyone ever. I'm not even that big of a Corrs fan, but I lovelovelove this album. And for some reason, Celtic music just screams "SPRING!" to me. I think because of the St. Patrick's Day connection? Anyway, this just belonged here. Because it does.

09. Here Comes The Sun - The Beatles
Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
and I say it's all right

10. The Flower Duet - Charlotte Church
A song about flowers sung in French. I've always adored this song, and for some reason it just really stuck out to me for this.

11. Mairzy Doats and Dozy Doats - The Merry Macs
Yeah, I have NO idea why this song reminds me of spring. I think it's the same thing with Swinging On A Star. It just does. Plus this song is amazing and cute and I'm sure everyone knows it.

12. The Garden / All In The Golden Afternoon - Disney
You can learn a lot of things from the flowers,
for especially in the month of June.
There's a wealth of happiness and romance,
all in the golden afternoon.

Note: The first 20 days of June are technically Spring. So there.

13. Chuck's Swing - Jim Dooley
I try to include Pushing Daisies into whatever I do. The soundtrack (I WANT A VOLUME TWO SOUNDTRACK, BTW) actually gave me two songs to put on here: Morning Has Broken and this one! Ever since I got the soundtrack, this song has been my favorite. I think it's the 1940's swing feel it has, but I love it. It reminds me of being on a swing in the spring time. Delightful.

14. A Lover's Concerto - The Toys
Ok, I've been legit obsessed with this song for a couple of years now. It's just so perfect. From it's use of Bach's Minuet in G Major to the delightful, joyous lyrics. How gentle is the rain that falls softly on the meadow! Birds high up in the trees serenade the flowers with their melodies. is what starts off this ode to love, and it's just beautiful. Some magic from above made this day for us just to fall in love. Yes, indeed!

15. Dream A Little Dream Of Me - The Mamas & The Papas
Stars shining bright above you;
Night breezes seem to whisper "I love you".
Birds singing in the sycamore tree.
Dream a little dream of me.

Note: For someone who hates birds as much as I do, I do seem to use them as a reference point a lot.

16. Puff The Magic Dragon - Peter, Paul & Mary
From the guitar work to the whole fantasy of the song, this song just makes me think of spring. It's one of those songs that you imagine listening to while laying out in the middle of a grassy field watching the clouds go by - nevermind the reference to the "autumn mist". That's irrelevant.

17. San Francisco (Be Sure To Wear Flowers In Your Hair) - Scott McKenzie
If you're going to San Francisco
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair
If you're going to San Francisco
You're gonna meet some gentle people there

Again - ignore the reference to summertime. I think of it more as an excitement for that season. This puts me more in the mood for spring weather.

18. Magical House Cleaning/Blue or Pink - George Bruns
This is from Sleeping Beauty, which is mainly set in spring, so I always get that feeling when I listen to this. PLUS the first part is "Magical House Cleaning" which makes me think of Spring Cleaning and how I wish that would happen magically.

19. Raindrops - Regina Spektor
In a town that’s cold and gray
We will have a sunny day
Don’t you know that I
Belong arm in arm with you, baby…

20. In The Sun - She & Him
Most of She & Him's music is great springtime music to just roll down your windows and drive to. But as this one's called "In The Sun" and it has a particularly spring-like feel to it, I had to put it on here. Plus the general optimism of the song, despite it's lyrical content, is fun for spring.

21. God Only Knows - Beach Boys
I'm not sure why I picked this song to be on here, aside from the fact that I LOVE it. It does put me into a bit of a spring mindset, but I'm not sure why. But I think it flows with the rest of the songs well so enjoy it!

22. Rainbow Connection - Jim Henson
What's so amazing
That keeps us star gazing
And what do we think we might see?

Someday we'll find it
That Rainbow Connection
The lovers the dreamers and me

23. Blue Skies - Frank Sinatra & Tommy Dorsey
Blue skies smiling at me
Nothing but blue skies do I see
Bluebirds singing a song
Nothing but bluebirds all day long

24. All I Have To Do Is Dream - Everly Brothers
Dream, dream, dreeeeam. Spring apparently makes me think of dreaming. This just... ah. So wonderful. So cheerful whilst being laid back. Exactly what spring is for me.

25. Lieder ohne Worte, Op. 62: No. 6 Andante Grazioso In a "Spring Song" - András Schiff
This is just such a perfect, relaxing piece of solo piano that sounds like flowers blooming and the wind blowing to close this mix of with.
